Frances is a Dutch citizen, working as an artist in Singapore and Bali. Her drawings consist of charcoal, pencil, pastel and prints of different sizes. The drawings are figurative in nature and show a world in which often-unexpected relations between different elements confront the viewer with unclear feelings. The protagonists, whether human or animal, are enigmatic, elusive and seem absorbed in their own world. The different elements of each drawing can be described, but the whole cannot be easily captured in words. The viewer doesn't receive an easy answer and the artist sees this as a way in which to document the memory of longing. Frances' works have been seen in various group and solo shows in Singapore, Holland and Bali. Her mural adorns the walls of the Wessex Estate in Singapore.
