Authentication

Q: What is an authentication certificate?
A: The majority of our Artworks are sourced personally and directly from our Artists. We meet with them, get to know them and work on building an ongoing relationship. This way, You are assured that the Artworks are original and authentic. As an additional protection, we ask all of our Artists to sign Certificates of Authentication for each of their Artworks. The original Give Art Certificate will be delivered to you with your Artwork. If you were ever to pass on or sell your Artwork, this Certificate would provide assurance to the next owner. In this way, the Artwork will have provenance.

If you would like to purchase an art work which exceeds SGD1600 via Paypal, please register your credit card and create a Paypal account so that Paypal can verify that your address matches your credit card details. Framing

Q: If the work is unframed, can it be shipped abroad?
A: Yes, we will ship it in a special tube to protect it during transit. We recommend that for international shipping you purchase the art work unframed. We can recommend framers in the UK.

We only ship to certain countries at the moment. We ship to the UK, Australia and some countries within Southeast Asia. Please get in touch with any shipping questions.

Q: The work I have chosen is unframed, can you arrange framing for me?
A: Yes, we will be in touch with you once you place your order to discuss your framing requirements. We use a specialist fine art framer in Singapore and we frame the works using conservation grade materials. This includes acid free paper, acid free mount board and acid free hinges. If the destination of the artwork is bright and sunny, we can ensure that UV filtering acrylic is used to reduce the risk of fading over time.

If you are based in the UK, we can arrange to ship the unframed work to our associate framers in London who will frame and deliver the work to your address in the UK. This is safer and more cost effective than shipping the framed work from here.

Do get in touch with us if you would like to discuss framing in more detail.

Q: Can a framed art work be shipped?
A: It can be shipped to certain countries.  At present, we ship to the UK, Australia and some Southeast Asian countries. Please contact us with any shipping questions. When you place your order our shipping calculator will automatically generate a shipping cost, taking into account packing and the volumetric weight charges used by international shipping company, DHL. Most of our art works will be shipped with DHL. In some cases, where the artwork is particularly large or heavy or where you are shipping a number of art works we will use a specialist art shipping company.

You will be the List Holder for the purposes of our terms and conditions, so we advise you to select an Artwork with a price tag that will be covered by the donations. Shipping

Q: What does it cost to ship my artworks?
A: If you live in Singapore, where Give Art is physically based, you may collect the art works from the gallery at your convenience or we will deliver to your home free of charge. If you live abroad, then in many cases we can ship to you, using DHL or a specialist art handling company. We currently ship to the UK, Australia and many countries within Southeast Asia. Our online automatic shipping calculator will calculate the shipping costs associated with the works you have chosen. This will vary if you then opt to have the works framed. For more details, please contact us.

Q: Why is shipping so expensive?
A: Shipping artwork abroad is expensive, and more so due to the delicate nature of framed works. Often the framed art work is very large in size. However, we work with experts in the field to create special art crates. We can also ship unframed works flat if you prefer. This is more expensive than in a tube, but ensures the artwork arrives and is ready for immediate framing.

In the case of UK customers, we advise that unframed works are shipped unframed to our framer in London and framed there.

Timing

Q: When should I set up my Gift List?
A: As soon as you can. We allow you to set up the list up to 3 months before your event. For example, if your wedding is on 15th September 2009, you can set up your list on or after 15th June 2009. This allows you plenty of time to receive the Notification Cards, send out invitations to your event and allow your friends and family to view the Artworks and make a donation.

Q: What do I do if I want to set up my Gift List more than 3 months before the event?
A: Do contact us and we can discuss your requirements
